When I was little, I had a fascination with early American pioneers, immigrants, and explorers. They were the people who uprooted their lives for a dream that they hoped would come true. They sold their possessions or left them behind to make their dream possible. They only took what they needed, only keeping a few family mementos and heirlooms. They lived simply, ate what they grew or hunted, made their own clothes, and worked hard. Or at least that’s how I romanticized it to myself.

For whatever reason, that romanticized image has stuck with me over the years. Now approaching my senior year in college, I have decided to pursue minimalism and simple living for myself. While my experience certainly isn’t going to be as extreme as the pioneers’ lifestyle, I want to pursue a simple, minimalist lifestyle that would make them proud.

That’s what this blog is all about. I have no clue what I’m getting myself into, but I figured I would share my experience and any resources or practices that I find helpful as I go.

So join me on this journey. We’ll see where it goes.
